Extra help/group study

*SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS

We have three weeks left in the summer session--that means 9 more days of class. I'd like to do whatever I can to help you leave the summer program feeling prepared for the fall semester. I know we don't always have enough time in class to do what you may want/need to accomplish, so for the next 3 weeks I'm going to hang out on campus outside of class. I'll pick a different day/time each week (whatever works with my schedule), and I encourage you to come talk to me, ask me questions, study with me, whatever you need.

We can also do group study. If there is a time that you would especially like to meet with me then let me know and I will try to arrange it. If there is a topic you know you want to discuss with me then let me know. Otherwise, I will just hang out either in the library, sub, or some other stated place on campus.

Because my schedule got booked up this week, I am only going to to hang around campus this Friday if someone contacts me and lets me know that they would like to meet up. I am happy to meet with you tomorrow, so please email me or post something letting me know that you would like to get together, otherwise I'm just going to set up a time for next week.

Compass/Math placement

Logan (and anyone else who is interested)--

Below are some links if you are interested in testing out of Math 25. There is some general information about where to go to take the compass and how much it costs as well as some practice questions. On top of the practice questions they provide, be sure to practice scientific notation or else you wont get past the first section. Good luck to anyone who takes the placement exam.

Prioritizing

I'm not really sure on how to "teach" prioritizing, so I'm starting this post as a place for hints and tips. I think it's important to find what works for you and then go with it. If everyone could share any ideas or tips they have, that would be great

study group TODAY

okay...I think I should make it on time (or close to on time). I'll get there as close to 7 as I can and at least by 7:30. Because I have no idea how many people are coming, I think the best meeting place will be the library. So, right when you walk in the library there is a room to your immediate left. I think that's a good place to meet and then if we don't like it we can move elsewhere. Sound good? I hope so. I will see you there between 7 and 7:30. Bring your book, your study guide, and whatever study materials you have.

Study Group Tomorrow

Hello, all.

I never really got a final head count for Sunday's study group. Have some of you already taken the test? I'm thinking the somewhere in the library would be great, but if you all prefer somewhere else that's certainly fine with me. We could also meet somewhere outside on campus if you wanted. It will have cooled down by 7 but it will still be light out, so outdoors is certainly an option. So let's finalize a meeting place by 9am Sunday morning. Let me know what you want or else I'll pick the place.

One more note...There is a slight possibility that I won't make it back in town by 7 tomorrow. I am in Sacramento and the plan is to leave tomorrow morning at 9 (it's an 8 hour drive so that puts me back at 5). Unfortunately, my parents aren't very good at taking off on schedule, and as I drove with them, I must wait for them to leave.

If I am not back (which I should be) than I would like someone else to volunteer to be the study group facilitator. It's just important that somebody keeps everyone focused. If I am unable to make it, I will post materials on here that you can use for your study group. Ok?

Let's cross our fingers and hope I get my parents out the door on schedule. Oh yea, and I hope you all had a super fun 4th of July weekend :)
